Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

Many small business owners feel the need to be creative and original in their marketing in order to stand out from their competitors. This is not always the best practice, because many times what is being done already is already successful. When you are walking around town I encourage you to look and see what your competitors are doing successfully. Also pay attention to what is not working well. How can you apply these concepts to your own business, and what could you improve on?

Look at competitor’s promotions, follow them on Facebook and Twitter, and see if there is something that you can do better. You don’t always have to start from scratch; I encourage you to try and find inspiration in the world around you.
